King Diamond on the next tour and album.

I would say there is 90% chance we'll be out on the road in 2010 with a new King Diamond album which I will start writing for when the DVD projects are done. Andy has told me he already has new material for at least 3 songs which I am looking very much forward to hear. Hal Patino, Mike Wead and Matt Thompson are patiently waiting for the time when King Diamond will be back at full speed. So it seems like the middle to latter part of this year will be very busy writing new material.

Double DVD's for King and Fate! YES!!!

From King's Myspace: "For this year, you will see a double DVD of old private King Diamond video recordings and a double DVD of old private Mercyful Fate video recordings which I am working on as we speak. Andy has finished remastering "The Graveyard", "Spider's Lullabye", "Voodoo", and "House of God", all of which should also be available this year. And then there is "the big surprise" (not little King babies with horns on their foreheads or Mercyful Fate writing new songs, at least not as we speak) but something that could lead to renegotiations of the Mercyful Fate recording deals. We'll see. Be patient....."

"Regarding the DVD projects, I am currently working on the King Diamond DVD projects myself, with Livia's help on programming. It's really beginning to shape up, but as I'm sure some of you already know, I am faced with a very steep learning curve. We're dealing with very long files (5 camera multi camera edit for the one hour 35 minute long Copenhagen show from 1990), and editing is very time consuming. As I mentioned, my back is continuously getting better, but 5 hours in front of the computer per day is the limit. We ARE working on this every single day, but it's impossible to estimate a release date at this point."

Long years now we here at the United States Coven have petitioned for DVD's such as these and finaly it looks like it just might happen.

King Diamond on rumour Control.

I'm writing this in order to set the facts straight with regards to the interview I did for a danish newspaper just before Christmas. When I read the article it became obvious that this particular journalist had an agenda of his own. At least half the article was false, twisting the facts to suit his "agenda". First of all, Livia and I have no plans for having kids in the near future. We certainly love kids but it doesn't fit in our working schedule at this point. I don't know where the journalist got this thing from, but we do appreciate all the nice words you had regarding this subject even though it's not true. Also, Livia and I do not look forward to Christmas like little kids every year. It's a cozy time, sure, but again the journalist's choice of word are completely twisted. Just for your info, the Christmas tree in the picture is THE ONLY Christmas decoration inside or outside our house and it stays up year round cause I don't want to bother taking it down and it looks pretty cool. Check the goat skull right next to the tree. I can see that if I open the door to my private life just a tiny bit, things quickly get twisted out of context, and that's why in the past I have always kept my private life and business very separate.

The second rumour that's floating around, which is that Mercyful Fate has started writing new material, I really have no idea where it originated from. The present status of Mercyful Fate remains unchanged, meaning that we have not started writing new material. For that to happen, Mercyful Fate's recording contracts have to be renegotiated first. We certainly would love for this to happen so that we can finally make our long overdue "masterpiece". Both Hank and I are ready to go if that scenario presents itself, and who knows, that might happen this year.

KING DIAMOND receives Grammy Nomination for Best Metal Performance!!!!

Yes its true King Diamond has received a Grammy Nomination for BEST METAL PERFORMANACE for the track Never Ending Hill off their latest album Give me Your Soul… Please.

King Diamond's Give Me Your Soul… Please was released on 06.26.07 and was #174 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart! Give Me Your Soul… Please is a blistering metal horror-opera concept album that draws from themes from the occult and both King Diamond's personal life, after-life experiences, as well as King Diamond's signature dark imagination. King To Begin Recording New Album!!!

King will start recording the new album in early March in Dallas, Texas and at Los Angered Recording (Andy's studio) in Gothenburg, Sweden. King and Andy have been writing songs for sometime now. The band will begin rehearsals for their upcoming European tour (April 14 and June 13) The recording and mixing of the new album will continue in August.

Melissa and Abigail have been Reiussed

Melissa and Abigail have been Reiussed as CD/DVD SPECIAL EDITIONS The DVD for Melissa includes unreleased live concert footage, with commentary from King Diamond: Live at The Dynamo, Eindhoven, Holland, 1983: Doomed By The Living Dead, Black Funeral, Curse Of The Pharaohs. The Abigail DVD has the video of the Live in Gothenberg, Sweden, concert from 1987. The DVD also has the videos The Family Ghost, Welcome Home and Sleepless Nights.

The Melissa remastered CD includes 6 bonus tracks, expanded artwork and extensive liner notes. The bonus tracks are Black Masses, Curse Of The Pharaohs(BBC Radio 1 Session), Evil(BBC Radio 1 Session), Satan's Fall(BBC Radio 1 Session), Curse Of The Pharaohs(demo) and Black Funeral(demo).

My copies are digi packed I assume that they all are. So what are you waiting for go out and get one while you can!

Dimebag Darrel is dead!!!

Columbus police department spokeswoman Sherry Mercurio identified three of the victims of Wednesday's shooting as Abbott, guitarist with the heavy metal rock band Damageplan, and two other men, Nathan Bray and Erin Halk.

Damageplan had just begun their first song at the Alrosa Villa when the man opened fire, first targeting Abbott, shooting him multiple times at point-blank range, a witness said.

Abbott, 38, one of metal's top guitarists, and his brother, Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott, were original members of Grammy-nominated thrash rock pioneers Pantera, one of the most popular metal bands of the early 1990s.

The witness, 22-year-old Chris Couch, said he was standing about 30 feet away from the stage when he noticed a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and hockey jersey walk up to the stage, followed by a bouncer and another club employee.

The man in the jersey climbed onto the stage, started yelling and shot the guitarist five or six times at close range, Couch said. He said the gunman also shot a bouncer who pulled him off the musician.

Columbus police spokesman Sgt. Brent Mull said that after shooting at members of the band, the gunman fired into the crowd. Mull said a police officer who arrived shortly after the shooting began shot and killed the gunman.

"If the officer wasn't as close as he was, I think this would have been a lot worse," he said. "It was a chaotic scene, just a horrific scene."

Mercurio said the officer who killed the suspect was patrolling nearby when he heard the call go out. He entered the club through a back door and was directed to the stage, where he saw one person lying dead and the suspect holding onto another person, Mercurio said. The officer shot and killed the suspect.

The suspect's name and that of the fifth person killed were not immediately released. Mercurio said their family members are still being notified.

The USC's thoughts are with the families.

King Has Taken His Naturalization Test!!! He is soon to become a U.S. citizen!!!

"I've just been getting ready with things. I took the Naturalization test... I've been studying hard for that. I had that test come up in the middle of everything. I started that process in March 2003, and I got the test date scheduled for November last year, but we were on tour. You are only given two weeks notice, and we were in the middle of the tour. I had to tell my lawyer that he had to reschedule it and I expected it would be rescheduled for December or something because we were finished touring somewhere in the middle of November. I just had the test a week or so ago. It takes a long time. There are a lot of checks they do. In these times, they are much more thorough - whereas they should be - and that takes time. So it finally came up. Had I not been present on the second rescheduled time, I would have been thrown out of the system and would have to start all over again. That's part of the reason why were are not actually touring in Europe as we speak..."

King elaborates more on his current plans "...the second leg of 'The Puppet Master' tour will start April 14, I think. We're doing another leg where we're hitting a lot of cities that we didn't hit last time - quite a few actually - and some that we did hit last time. We had decided that we were going to try and do it that way - especially for the U.S. because I would not need to have an actual passport at that time - cause we didn't know when I would suddenly get this test here. In the meantime, we're going to start writing a new studio album and hopefully be in the recording phase before we hit that tour. Then also work on those two retro DVDs that you might have heard of - one for MERCYFUL FATE and one for KING DIAMOND, which are mainly consisting of old bootlegs, but bootlegs that no bootlegger has ever seen before We have the only masters. There is some very rare stuff there - very good picture quality I think, and the sound quality is absolutely acceptable in my mind... I received 35 DVDs from this guy in Europe that has all of our masters and the majority of that was seen before, and that's not interesting to me at all. But there is a big bunch of them that have never been seen before by anyone. For instance, there is one from Copenhagen '92 - MERCYFUL FATE live - before Michael Denner was even in the band. There is also one from early '84 before we recorded 'Don't Break The Oath', but we are playing songs from 'The Oath' in Amsterdam, Holland. The place was called The Paradiesel, which was a church converted into a concert venue. The picture quality is very good, and with the technology today, they can clean up some of the video. I was really surprised when I saw that old stuff before Denner was in the band. It really had an impression on me. I couldn't believe that it was that good actually. I'm waiting to get a load of KING DIAMOND stuff to go through and figure out which things would best fit the format we're going for... So, that will be a lot of work for us to do up until the time of the second leg of the tour. Then, when that's done, I am sure that we will mix the new album in the summertime, if everything goes according to plan. As soon as the summer is over, and if we can do it business-wise, we will be touring Europe for 'The Puppet Master'. Shortly after that tour is over - two or three weeks later - I think the label should be ready to release the new studio album. Then we'll be touring again..."

The rumour that King's health is bad is Not True!!! In King's own word he says "The only reason for postponement of the Euro-Tour, is that my immigration/naturalization process with the US-government is taking longer than expected, and this procedure prevents me from leaving the country. I already missed the first test, and had to reschedule it, due to being on tour last November. This rescheduled test has still not taken place, and If I for some reason miss it, I will have to start the whole procedure all over again.

The reason for this taking so long, is probably because of all the extra precautions and checks the US-government has to take in these times of Terrorism. So... in order to not waste any time, songwriting for the next King album will start in a couple of weeks, and if everything goes without any problems, we might have the music recorded right before X-mas. Vocals would then be put down in January, and then who knows what Mix the album? Tour? Where? That I can't see in my crystal ball. BUT, one thing is for sure, a European tour should happen next year. Until then, I hope the fans will enjoy the double LIVE-album.

By the way, my health is excellent !!!!!!!!!

King Diamond Reveals Live Album Details

KING DIAMOND have set "Deadly Lullabies Live" as the title of their forthcoming Double Live CD, tentatively due before the end of the year. The album was recorded during the band's last U.S. tour and was mixed at guitarist Andy LaRocque's Los Angered studio outside Gothenburg, Sweden. In a recent interview with Denmark's Metal Reference,
frontman King Diamond discussed the recording process for the live CD.

"We wanted to have [the album] released earlier than this, but it seemed quite inappropriate as there was no tour to support 'Abigail 2', and we obviously have to conduct more shows than that if we want to select some of the better parts for a live release," he said."But we definitely thought at that time that we would be able to release a live album."

Asked if the recordings will also be released on DVD, King said,"Oh, no. It's going to be a double live album, this one, and it was recorded on our last US tour,and we almost recorded all the shows for this purpose. A live DVD will probably surface later, and both my record labels Metal Blade and Massacre are interested in joining forces to release it. [The DVD] will however feature live material from our European tour, and this is likely to happen right after summertime 2004."

KING DIAMOND/ENTOMBED!!!

KING DIAMOND has officially confirmed plans to embark on a North American tour in the fall, w/ENTOMBED opening. "Tour booking is currently in progress, no dates are firm yet," writes KING's manager Ole Bang on the group's official web site. "It is the plan that KING will bring Swedish act ENTOMBED out as opening band, plus at least one more band which has not been confirmed yet. Tour is scheduled to start on the west coast in late October."

The trek, which is set to kick off on October 20, and will be sponsored by Metal Maniacs magazine. Thats one kick ass Metal Rag!
KING DIAMOND are currently mixing their new album, "The Puppet Master", for a fall release through Metal Blade Records. ENTOMBED's latest CD, "Inferno", has just been released domestically through Koch Records.

Puppet Master Update!

Update from KING DIAMOND on new album The Puppet Master!!! "So far all the basic tracks have been recorded including the rhythm guitars, bass guitars, drums, and keyboards. We will start working on vocals and lead guitars next and then we will begin to mix everything together starting around June 2003. After the mixing is done we will have someone out to videotape me telling the story of The Puppet Master for bonus material on the second disc. We will also approach our band pictures a little different this time around and I think people are really going to love it. It will definitely be different and twisted! As far as the music goes, everything has been going very well and it all sounds killer! It just has such an awesome sound and it is everything I expected and then some. The few people that have heard it so far, and are also very familiar with all the past albums, think it's some of the best material to date. You're really gonna love this stuff!!!"

Andy LaRoque is back from his home in Sweden after finishing recording his tracks for the new King Diamond album titled "The Puppet Master". The new album due for release in late October will have a bonus DVD or CDR of King Diamond telling the story of The Puppet Master.As King describes it this album is going to make the hairs stand upon the back of listeners neck. "The rules of censorship are beingthrown out the window... this is going to be the rawest story/album we have ever done." King was also quick to point out that "if you are into horror you're definitely going to get it with this album!"

News from the CWW is that King has wrote 9 songs and Andy contributed 3 songs for The Puppet Master. The bad news is that there doesnt appear to be a typical intro but an intro 2 minutes song entitled "THE SAILOR" which ends with the words "Let The Show Begin" that leads into the first song entitled "THE PUPPET MASTER".

King said. "There will also a very sad sad song (probably entitled "SO SAD") which has very intense guitar playing on it."

"From now until the end of October, we will be writing all the new music," Diamond reveals. "During November and December, I will be writing the lyrics (the story is already done). "Then I will, for the first time, do demo vocals at my house, especially for [bassist] Hal Patino's sake, so that he has the vocal melodies to work his bass lines in and out of. Hal's style is to follow nothing and everything at the same time. He's all over the place without ever being in the wrong place. He is definitely my personal favorite bass player.

"Mid-February, we ship half of Andy's studio to Dallas, to be set up in my house, including his mobile ProTools system, and a bunch of outboard gear etc. etc. It's all going to be the same kind of top-quality gear that we are used to work with.

"So my house is where the actual recording process will start. We will record all rhythm guitars, bass guitars, most keyboards and possibly most of the harmony guitars there, too. These things will be mixed into a rough mix, which Andy and I will bring to a studio here in Dallas where Matt [Thompson] will be recording all of his drum tracks. Then Andy and I will do another rough mix of everything that's been recorded so far. Several copies will be made of this. Andy will bring a copy with him back to Sweden, and I will bring a copy of the rough mixes to a studio here in Dallas to record the vocals. When Andy and [guitarist] Mike [Wead] are done with their solos in Sweden, and I am done with the vocals, then Andy comes back to Dallas, where he and I will be mixing the album and mastering it too. We hope to be able to send the finished master tapes to the record labels before the summer, so we can have it released just before Halloween next year.

Well thanks to all the MP3 downloading thats going on out there king has fallen on hard times! But unlike many who would give up in times of such adversity King fights on! He has recently signed with Massacre Records for thier European sales and tours. MetalBlade for the U.S. and Canada. Kings lawyer Ron Bienstock continues to set up deals for the territories of Japan, South America, Australia and Asia. King said that while they were in the studio recording Abigail 2 the industry was taking a nose dive. He said that the industry is now losing 45% of thier sales to downloading and homeburning of MP3's.

Metalblade would have to take a loss on all thier bands album sales to keep them all on board so they had no choice but to cut their support for the Abigail 2 tour and on what they could offer King to record His next album with.

The simple and sad truth is that if everyone continues to download thier favorite bands music and not buy the albums and if websites keep offering these ILLEGAL MP3's and BOOTLEG CD's and BOOTLEG VIDEO's Then they will surly also kill thier favorite bands!

To keep the quality of the recordings up to Kings high standard while spending less money he will 1st not work with an outside producer King said "Andy, Mike and myself have been involved with so many productions that we no longer need the help of a producer or co-producer". 2nd they will ship half of Andys studio to Kings home in Dallas to record part of the new cd and then they well do the rest at Andys studio (Los Angered Recording) in Sweden.

In other news King is in serious talks with both Metalblade and Massacre about recording the next tour for a double live album, which will be both The Puppet Master and Abigail 2 with a few of the classic King songs thrown in for good measure.

Massacre has shown great interest in a DVD from that same tour, King Say "We'll see, we are difinitely going to be fighting for that.

KING DIAMOND are still officially signed to Metal Blade Records, despite recent rumors indicating that the company and the band have parted ways. However, according to manager Ole Bang, the current running agreement is approaching the date of the option for a new recording, and I have no info to the effect whether Metal Blade will take their option or not.

Rumors of a split between KING DIAMOND and Metal Blade have been running rampant since frontman and band namesake King Diamond publicly expressed his displeasure with the amount of tour support extended to the band in order to enable them to embark on the road to promote the band's recently-issued Abigail II: The Revenge CD.

There are no plans at all at the moment but this doesn't mean that there will not be a tour, Bang told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. Anything could happen.

If Metal Blade Records chooses not to exercise its contractual option to renew KING DIAMOND's agreement for another album, it will mark the end of a four-album collaboration that began with 1995's Spider's Lullabye. King Diamond's other band, MERCYFUL FATE, parted ways with Metal Blade in January after recording five albums for the label.

Happy Birthday to Michael Denner!He's birthdays November the 5th, He will be 43 years old

Despite strong rumours, it would seem that legendary Danish metalers Mercyful Fate are alive and kicking. According to vocalist King Diamond, the band have even been working on new material, although given Kings commitment to his solo career for the first part of 2002, it may be some while before the Fate are reunited.

IT LOOKS LIKE KING IS GOING TO DO A SEQUEL TO HIS CLASSIC ALBUM "ABIGAIL"! WHICH I THINK IS GREAT NEWS, I LOVED THE STORYLINE AND I'M SURE THAT KING WILL DO HIS MAGIC ONCE AGAIN AND A NEW MASTERPIECE WELL BE BORN!

There’s a lot of things happening right now with the King Diamond band. We’ve had a lot of lineup changes lately. It’s Andy LaRocque and then Mike Wead of Mercyful Fate. Hal Patino is playing bass, they guy from Them and Conspiracy. He’s totally over the problems he had. We have a drummer, Matt Thompson, who can play whatever we need him to play. He’s such a great drummer. The other guys, I won’t say why they’re out, it was all for family related reasons I totally respect. But we haven’t had the kind of drummer we needed and we have it now. That has made it possible for us to write the way we want again. After House of God, I talked to Andy and said we have to get a drummer like Mikkey Dee! We couldn’t write what we wanted to because he could just not play it. But now we can. And on the 15th of May we go in to record the new album. And what we’re doing this time is what we’ve wanted to do for a long time, the followup to Abigail. We’re doing Abigail part two, The Revenge is what we’ll be calling it and it should be out right before Halloween, and then we’ll tour the US right on top of that. It’ll be the Abigail story live so we’ll be playing almost everything off the first one and everything off the new one.
